A mixture of longer exposure and timing the strikes (with a bit of luck) I caught this lightning crashing through the storm, that was sweeping over the ocean.

Note the rainbow to the right :D

panasonic lumix fz8, well 1/30 for afternoon so not that long but in the lighting conditions it was. ull see the ships light flaring a bit but what the hey. lightning :D hehe

hehe, jip. I really had a longing to get lightning, decently, for quite some time. that was one of the best photo days ever. a shark, starfish, lightning, rainbows. All in one day. oh yes and dolphins.
